I was disappointed... no one was doing exit polls this morning.

I voted early (4.00 / 2)
And I must say this was the most exciting primary that I can remember.

State Senate 1st district was competitive.
5 of the 6 Wheeling City Council Wards are hotly contested.
There is even a hot Democratic primary for Ohio County Assessor!
4 Democrats running for Ohio County Sheriff.
6 Democrats running for 4 magistrate slots.
5 candidates for 2 seats on the Ohio County Board of Education.
An open seat in the WV House of Delegates (2nd district)
And a Northern Panhandle native running for Secretary of State.

Like I said, the most exciting local primaries I can ever remember. Too bad I couldn't vote for either Democratic candidate for Governor. I wasn't about to violate my ethics. I really hope the Mountain Party runs a candidate for Governor in November. They may just garner the all-important 15%.

Voting (4.00 / 1)
My kids and I walked to the voting precinct today.  There was a line and the poll workers told me there were people waiting when the polls opened.  My ballot was number 280 in our precinct (we actually had an additional ballot for school board and a levy).  The report from the poll workers is that they don't usually hit 300 until after 5:00 on election days.  I voted at 11:30.  After voting, I handed each my secrecy envelopes to each of my kids.  They turned them in for me.  It may sounds strange, but I nearly died of pride.  We even had a discussion on the way to the polling place about why we vote.  My 8-yr-old son told a guy on the sidewalk that his dad was going to pick the president.
