About Netroots Nation

If all goes well, over the next few days we'll be getting some dispatches from our intrepid members who are attending Netroots Nation in Austin, Texas. Unless they melt in the 100 degree temperatures, that is.

If you're curious about the event, the website above has lots of great information about this years event and the event's history.

Netroots Nation amplifies progressive voices by providing an online and in-person campus for exchanging ideas and learning how to be more effective in using technology to influence the public debate. Within the campus, we strengthen community, inspire action and serve as an incubator for progressive ideas that challenge the status quo and ultimately affect change in the public sphere.

This is the first year it is called Netroots Nation--previously it was YearlyKos. Now in its third year, it has been held in Las Vegas and Chicago, too. I hope to finally make it next summer to my first one.

Safe travels and happy conventioneering to those of you in attendance this year!
