Ever notice about West Virginia Republicans?

Ever notice when West Virginian Republicans talk about how we should elect Republicans, they never say why? They attack Democrats, often for problems that have nothing to do with their state offices. When we talk about Anne Barth, we can talk about her skill at getting things done, her ability to work with people from all walks of life, her experience as the right hand of the beloved Sen. Robert C. Byrd, her understanding of the middleclass and regular West Virginians because she grew up in a minister's home and not in the governor's mansion. Except for Republican strategist Gary Abernathy (and he tries to make the best of the hand he's been dealt) the rest of the rightwing bloggers and Republican "strategists" never mention anything positive about their own candidates. I guess they can't think of any thing good to say about them or Shelley Moore Capito either and on that we agree.

The difference (4.00 / 1)
The key difference is while we criticize Republicans, and rightly so, we also praise our own candidates when they deserve it. The GOPers can't do that with a straight face. What are they going to say? Shelley's popular because she's good at misleading the voters by saying one thing at home and doing the opposite in Washington? That she's loyal to a fault to President Bush (that one will go over well this year)? That she's sort of pro-choice but tries to hide that from both the pro-choice and the anti-choice crowd so she can trick the low-information anti-choice voters into supporting her? That she's shown she has no coattails and soaks up all the fundraising that could go into building up other Republicans?

When a man embarks upon a crime, he is morally guilty of any other crime which may spring from it. Sherlock Holmes.

Good point (4.00 / 2)
The ratio of posts here that promote Democratic candidates versus those that criticize Republicans is probably pretty close to 1 to 1.

At the Republican blogs the ratio is more like 100 to 1 for criticizing Democrats to promoting Republicans.

Walls crumbling around Replicans and all they do is Blame! (4.00 / 1)
The thing that gets me about Replicans is that they have a propensity for denial and blame that is unconscionable to me.  It's like they are all political alcoholics and can't get off the stuff long enough to come back to reality, they love to drink the conservative philosophy early and often even though it's killing them.  That's why we have to tough time dealing with them.  I watched with eagerness the Conyers hearings on Fri. hoping for some homerun that will put Bush and Cheney out of office for good but didn't come away with anything more than self appeasement that these talks were finally happening.
