Wouldn't It Be Ironic (4.00 / 1)
Celebrities retain the use of their images. Wonder what Britney and Paris have to say about the new McCain ad?

SPECIAL REPORT--A recent case in California has pitted the Three Stooges against artist Gary Saderup. Saderup, who has made a career of creating charcoal drawings of celebrities, was sued for damages and injunctive relief by the Three Stooges' agent, Comedy III Productions Inc. under California's Right of Publicity Law, for selling lithographs and tee-shirts based on the artist's charcoal drawings bearing the likeness of the Three Stooges. The problem is Saderup did so without securing Comedy III's permission.

Paris' very very rich mom and dad both reportedly maxed out (4.00 / 1)
in the amounts contributed to McCain. Attempting to protect Bush's tax cuts for the rich, insider trading and offshore accounts, I suppose.

Someone should YouTube a segment of Paris Hilton's sex tape and compare it to the blowjob McCain's giving his BigOil buddies.

Industry Gushed Money After Reversal on Drilling

Campaign contributions from oil industry executives to Sen. John McCain rose dramatically in the last half of June, after the senator from Arizona made a high-profile split with environmentalists and reversed his opposition to the federal ban on offshore drilling.

Oil and gas industry executives and employees donated $1.1 million to McCain last month -- three-quarters of which came after his June 16 speech calling for an end to the ban -- compared with $116,000 in March, $283,000 in April and $208,000 in May.[...]

McCain delivered the speech before heading to Texas for a series of fundraisers with energy industry executives, and the day after the speech he raised $1.3 million at a private luncheon and reception at the San Antonio Country Club, according to local news accounts.

"The timing was significant," said David Donnelly, the national campaigns director of the Public Campaign Action Fund, a nonpartisan campaign finance reform group that conducted the analysis of McCain's oil industry contributions. "This is a case study of how a candidate can change a policy position in the interest of raising money." source

Hollywood used to give John big love (0.00 / 0)
Paris's great-uncle was once married to Elizabeth Taylor.
And the great-grandfather was once married to Zsa Zsa Gabor.

Grandfather William Barron Conrad has also maxed out to McCain. And the Hilton Corporation chunks in some change.

. . . dozens of people in Hollywood -- including (Norman) Lear, Harrison Ford, Quincy Jones, Berry Gordy and Michael Douglas -- gave to McCain because they thought he was a Republican celebrity ď with a great personal story. And, dare we say, some celebrities, namely Warren Beatty, even became friends with the Arizona senator.

But the truth is most of Hollywood won't return McCain's calls nowadays because many of the stars and executives he initially impressed now believe the maverick stance they found so attractive was just a pose.

The only Dem ever to receive $ from Ricky Hilton was Sen. Joseph Biden, for the 1988 Prez race. Tell us anything?
