Even Republicans Thinks Sprouse Is "Out of Touch"

From Kabler's column today:

Sen. Clark Barnes, R-Randolph, says he dropped Sen. Vic Sprouse, R-Kanawha, as a consultant for his re-election campaign in the 15th Senatorial District following the May primary, but not over any personal issues.

Barnes said that, in outlining his strategy for how to run the general election campaign against former Sen. Mike Ross, it was clear that Sprouse was "out of touch" with how to run a campaign in a predominately rural district.

I guess Clark Barnes wasn't looking for any "street cred."

I want to hire Vic Sprouse because:
Republican street cred matters to me
I hope to catch him on the rebound
I want a free membership at Curves
The main theme of my campaign is "Wow!"

That;s pretty rough when your former client disses you in the press. (4.00 / 1)
Especially when so much of West Virginia is rural.

Speaking of "out of touch", does anyone know how long the BushCult over at Surber's blog has been hallucinating?

I apologize for linking directly to them, but I couldn't stay there long enough to directly quote any portion of that lunacy. The koolaid stench was so strong that I was violently retching while stabbing my browser's "home" link. Anyone surfing there should clamp their nose tightly and wear protective goggles.

The one thing that kept me from hurling as I waded through that crap was the realization that once this bunch have their asses handed to them come November, they'll likely lurch even farther to the right. Then, the term "out of mind" will be the operative one, instead of Randolph county's Republican Sen. Clark Barnes' "out of touch" phrase.

In other words, expect massive defections from the centrists in the Republican party as the neocons crash the Republican "brand" into the KarlAid sea.

Do you think this Don Surber commenter will stay home in November? (0.00 / 0)
donsurber post on Saturday 2 August:

Just Ask Me
Question: What's the big issue in the Louisiana U.S. Senate race?
Answer: Oil.

The post was about Salazar from Colorado, including a youtube showing Salazar objecting to one of McConnell's stunts, and claiming that Landrieu has succumbed to Ken's charms.
Response from D. L.:

"Oil is the best chance Republicans have this year."

Too bad that with the GOP, issues become but means to an end (winning) and that long held values, beliefs and policy, are all subordinated to winning. The big tent is reduced to laughing at the clowns while they take your admission money and spray you with their fake flowers.

Say what they want to hear - believe only what's necessary to get the votes - be like the wrong side if it works : what difference in principle, does party make anymore?

Strawman Surber's post on Saturday was after Sen. Landrieu's presser with the rest of the Gang of Ten on Friday 1 August.
