Mud boggin' Barth

While Anne Barth was meeting with voters and joining in on the fun at a mud bogging event at the Braxton County Fair, Shelley Moore Capito was at the Edgewood Country Club playing golf.

Of all the candidates I've seen campaign over the years, I've never seen one who has worked so hard and seemed to enjoy meeting with people so much as Anne Barth.

Whether out canvassing in 90 degree plus heat near Hedgesville, or meeting with people long into the night after the West Virginia Serenade in Martinsburg, she's always ready with a smile and a handshake.

Capito's campaign spokesman keeps complaining that Barth is a negative campaigner just because she points out the truth about Shelley Moore Capito's voting record and past statements and who is contributing funds to re-elect Capito. If the truth is a negative for Capito, that ain't Barth's fault.

Mud boggin' is the only time you'll see Anne Barth throwing dirt.

Here's something else that is true: you'll never meet a more positive and up beat person than Anne Barth.

While Capito likes to complain and cast blame instead of looking for real solutions, Anne Barth rolls up her sleeves and gets things done. She did it as Sen. Robert C. Byrd's state director and soon she'll be doing it as the Congressional representative for WV-02.

SO great meeting Barth @ Multi-fest this weekend. She HAS to win!

CQ Politics on the WV-02 (0.00 / 0)
Here:

The GOP is having to play some defense this year for the sole member of the party in the congressional delegation, Shelley Moore Capito . Capito, who has moderately conservative views, is seeking a fifth term in a district that stretches across the state and takes in Charleston. Her strong challenger is Anne Barth, a former West Virginia-based aide to Byrd. CQ Politics rates the 2nd District as Leans Republican.

I spend time in the bowels of Congressional voting records on occasion. Saying that Shelley Moore McCapito has moderately conservative views means she paints herself as moderate up here in the EP and votes, 90 miles away, as a total conservative.

For example, Employee Free Choice. Capito Votes to Protect Workers' Right to a Secret Ballot in Union Elections was her press release, but her position is anti-union. After the WalMart-union dust up in the news, I was pleasantly surprised to hear some balanced reporting this morning.

I am glad someone else besides us recognize that McCapito, by voting with party leadership SOO much, is not moderate. Her Congressional website is false advertising: an independent voice in order to best represent you in Congress.

...on how long Kent Gates (R-Spokesbot from PA) takes to make mud-slinging references via e-mail. I expect to have it in my Inbox tomorrow morning. That is if he can get signoff from Shelley at the club.

If they do the Barth camp ought to offer to go half on making it a direct mailer. As popular as 4-wheeling is in this state, if they want to help spread the word that Barth goes mud bogging then we should support that.

Anne much more personable in every way! (4.00 / 1)
Blue Heron Environmental Network had a float trip about a month ago and we invited Anne to attend to send us off.  She not only showed up with fresh donuts but she was upset that she had another event to cover otherwise she'd have joined us on our trek down Back Creek picking up debris, plastic, tires, even an old toilet seat.  I can't see Shelley doing any of this, she might get her feet wet or her precious hands dirty.  In Anne we have a real person of the mountain state who knows our problems and has the power to form coalitions to solve them.  Go Anne Go!
