Stacy Dugan is a wonderful person to be running for Commissioner. Morgan County has been RED for as long as I can remember - but things are REALLY looking up recently. In '06, Brenda Hutchinson(D-Morgan) shocked several political observers with a fantastic run, and WIN, for the Morgan County Commission. Throw in the fact that the Mayor of Bath is Susan Webster(D-Morgan)and an enthusiastic Executive Committee and supporters such as:
Chuck Wheeler, Cindy Largent-Hill, Jim Hoyt, Joe Lillard, Steve Hutchinson, Connie Perry, Mike McKecknie, Margie McCumbee-Allgyer,
Larry Schultz, Sue Schultz, Jerry Berman, Sally Berman, Nancy Sostaric, Stjepan Sostaric
and Stacy Dugan can be Morgan County's next Commissioner.
And let's not forget that Morgan County is looking for a change in their representation in Charleston. Well folks, they'e gonna get that change!
Former State Senator Mike Ross(D-15th) is primed to take back his seat from Sprouse-firing Clarke Barnes. Ross has shown tremendous determination in taking back his seat, and the 15th District knows they can count on Mike to represent them well in Charleston. We'll be glad to have him back, and be back in the majority.
So this is a change of sorts, changing back to solid Democratic values that have been much lacking in the jockey-esque Barnes, who likes the Tidewater Bar a bit too much for this constituent.
And then there's the 52nd House District. Southern Morgan County (as well as most of Western Berkeley County) stand to regain a voice of reason and respect in Mike Roberts. Mike has been aggressively challenging Craig Blair(R-Blankenship) throughout this campaign. Blair has become nothing more than a devisive crybaby for the likes of Blankenship, Abernathy, Sprouse, and many of the GOP legislators that pal around together in Charleston. Morgan and Berkeley County have a real choice in Mike Roberts, and Mike is working the 52nd as hard as Anne Barth is working the WV2CD. Much like Capito, Blair doesn't care about the people he was elected to represent, and certainly won't take the time to listen to their hopes and concerns. In fact, Blair recently stated in a public gathering that he was "finished worrying about the EP," and was only concerned "with state issues."
Thanks Craig, your constituents will love that lack of concern for their interests!
