Beth Walker - The Most Despicable WV Ad EVER

I will keep this diary relatively short so that moderators can embed the video. It was the first time I had seen this ad and the first I was aware of such ad.

Beth Walker, Republican candidate for the Supreme Court of Appeals, says the following in her campaign ad "Believe":

WV26003 :: Beth Walker - The Most Despicable WV Ad EVER

I WILL TYPE UP A TRANSCRIPT

Beth Walker:

What do I believe? I believe in God and the right to say that in public.

I believe the Second Amendment is written in ink, not in pencil, and no West Virginia court should dare tread on those rights.

I believe our judges should spend more time protecting our families and our values --- and less time worrying about the comfort of criminals. And as a proud West Virginian, I believe our Supreme Court has a desperate need for a good conservative.

I'm Beth Walker. If you agree, I need your vote."

DESPICABLE! ABSOLUTELY DESPICABLE!!!

This is unbecoming any candidate for our state's highest court. This is NOT a legislative office, and the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia has NOTHING to do with the right to speak about God or the Second Amendment!

BETH WALKER MUST BE REPUDIATED AND DEFEATED

Supreme Minister (4.00 / 2)
Is she running for Supreme Minister or Supreme Court Justice? Because even Jesus had something to say something favorable about the separation of church and state. It seems like she can't run on her legal background so she must appeal on a religious background. Does it admit she's not qualified for the job so she's appealing to God?

Do you know how to embed this video? (4.00 / 2)
It's in WMV format and I can't get the HTML to work properly. BTW, thanks for covering Max Kennedy's visit to Wheeling today. I was invited but got caught up in something else.

I'm thinking the best way is to upload it to youtube. The downside is we'd probably end up getting her ad more views than she'd get otherwise. Thoughts?

I've never uploaded to youtube (4.00 / 2)
Would you mind doing it? It should be up, and it should be exposed.

Thanks. I'll crosspost at DKos.

"Beth Walker Machinery" (4.00 / 3)
Unbelievable pandering to the most extreme right wingers.  On top of all that she is also a "Walker" of Walker Machinery the company that supplies the giant earth movers and trucks that are destroying our mountains.  A vote for Beth Walker would assure Don Blankenship and Massey Energy another paid for vote on the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.

Another thing about this ad (4.00 / 2)
You'd think someone running for Supreme Court justice for West Virginia would already know that anyone can already say they believe in God in public and no one can challenge that and that ALL of the Bill of Rights - and not just the Second Amendment - should be respected. So by her reasoning from her first statement and second, is she saying she doesn't believe the First Amendment is written in ink?

No, she's saying West Virginians are Stupid (4.00 / 2)
And Justice Workman or Menis Ketchum need to call her on it.

Blankenship's ads in 2004 were awful (4.00 / 2)
and drew national attention for being so nasty.

What a way to get the state in the national media! (4.00 / 2)
