WASHINGTON - An ACORN community organizer received a death threat and the liberal activist group's Boston and Seattle offices were vandalized Thursday, reflecting mounting tensions over its role in registering 1.3 million mostly poor and minority Americans to vote next month.
Attorneys for the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now were notifying the FBI and the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division of the incidents, said Brian Kettenring, a Florida-based spokesman for the group.
Comments right out of Heat of the Night directed to a sound man, probably a union guy, at one event. A blogger/reporter trying to interview Obama supporters at a Palin rally kicked to the ground by a big bearded fan of Mooselini. The Secret Service's reaction: stop reporters from interviewing the crowd.
"A community organizer can be a PTA member or a Christian Coalition lieutenant. Indeed, there's something deeply conservative about the vocation, which informally organizes citizens to demand better, fairer, and wiser treatment from detached government bureaucrats. . . . Community organizer isn't being used to describe a job but a background. Obama organized poor black people. Helped channel their anger and grievances and anxieties. That's change you can fear."
We have been here before. Remember Florida 2000 and Katherine Harris. She hired an outside firm to purge voter rolls. Ask Al Gore if elections have consequences. Remember Ohio 2004, Ken Blackwell and Stephanie Tubbs-Jones on the floor of the Senate as the Electoral College votes were being certified. Ask Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. about your vote being counted by software created by the profit motive. Remember Alberto Gonzales not recalling why nine U. S. Attorneys were fired in battleground states before the 2006 election. Ask David Iglesias and whether we can handle the truth.
We cannot look away from this. We cannot think the 23% is rational. We cannot think this is in the bag. Michele Obama is worried about complacency. The other ticket fears the power we have at the end of our markers and fingertips.
Vote early and take a friend. Then find another friend and make sure they vote. Ask your first friend to do the same. Joe Biden knows we are pro-American and love this country. Let's show him how much.
Fibonacci spread the use of the Arabic numeral system in Europe. First there is zero, nothing, a new concept on paper, what we have now. Then there is one, the loneliest number, standing next to another lonely one. Add one to the first two and you have three.
You'd be surprised how quick you get to a gross. Even in West By God Virginia Blue math works.
