Marmet, West Virginia Rally Report

Marmet Rally

I went down to the traditional election eve rally in Marmet this evening. The turnout was down from two years ago when Sen. Byrd was in attendance but, importantly, there was good press coverage there.

There were three major highlights for my evening.

- I got to hear a rousing speech by Anne Barth. Good on ya' Anne! You've come a long way as a candidate since we met at your kickoff event in downtown Martinsburg earlier this year. You've run a great campaign and you have earned the honor to serve as our next Congresswoman.

- I added to my campaign button collection. Thank you very much SPS. You're a gem!

- I got to thank Thornton Cooper in person for his efforts on Anne Barth's campaign. As he promised during the primary, he has indeed helped the Democratic Party nominee. He deserves major kudos for that. Thornton, I hope you'll join us here at the site and add your voice, passion and knowledge to the West Virginia netroots. (BTW... I know you were intensely curious as to my "real name." I just couldn't bring myself to tell you it's Clark Kent Gates.)

I'm processing many more pictures from the day... look for a slide show post some time early tomorrow.
