A very important article on the Venezuelan Single-Payer system that you should read.

Please go to http://cotocrew.wordpress.com and read the article by Caitlin McNulty of VenezuelanAnalysis.com.
The more articles I read like this, the more I realize how advanced countries are with single-payer systems and how the AMA and the Insurance Companies and the Pharmaceuticals Companies have been able to use MONEY to keep us pinned against the wall.

Make sure to pass this article on.

health care is not a right in the us constititution and you cant get bread or milk at a store in venezuela

There's no right to Medicare or Social Security in the U.S. Constitution either. (0.00 / 0)
There are however, constitutional amendments.

Stevewvu continues to amaze and amuse with his bumpersticker mentality.

Meanwhile Howard Dean points out

"You know who has socialized medicine in this country? Everyone over 65 and everybody in Congress."

Hey stevewvu why dont' you cite where the U.S. constitution provides for that?

Dr. Dean also said

Right now, we have rationing in private health care....

The right wing is running around saying Massachusetts didn't work. But they shouldn't say that because the reason it didn't work is because they didn't put in a public plan.

BTW groceries are no problem in Switzerland, Germany, England France and Canada despite the fact that they've a great system of socialized medicine for years, stevewvu.

Explain how that can be.

Soon enuf 4sure.

I'm not going to bother looking up the exact numbers, but hasn't it been something like the last decade-plus that they've been on the very of collapsing in something than 20 years from now?

The North Pole will melt before SS or Medicare collapses. That's something you ought to be a little more worried about.

well thats (0.00 / 0)
true clem...and now that i think about it, since the american clean energy and security act will guarantee the future of coal burning for decades and decades to come there will be tax revenues to keep ss and medicare going...

stevewvu, your ignorance of everything (4.00 / 1)
never ceases to amaze me. Tell me again how Social Security and Medicare are funded? You think with coal severance taxes? Social Security is okay. We had the debate establishing Social Security and your side lost. Get over it. Why is the Senate Finance with Sen. Rockefeller holding hearings on health care reform?

We have a Public Health Service, and they get scholarships like ROTC. You do approve of socialized Army, Navy and Air Force, right? Expand PHS scholarships, year=year for FPs. Pool the risk, pool the money, pay the claims. Get stockholders, board of directors and profit motive out of the way of the doctor/patient relationship. It is a bad way to practice the art of medicine. You are in the minority again.

Insurance companies getting subsidies in Part C, that is your tax money, to "supplement" them, not fix granny. Organized fraud, like in DOD contracting for the Iraq War, is over $1.5B. Part D non-negotiation was a travesty. $38M salaries, that's 70 times the President, so that they can lose money on the stock market. Private insurance companies are not in the business of health care, get them out of Medicare.

Oh, Judge Sotomayor's benefactor Sen. Moynihan, facts vs. opinions, where for art thou?

unlike stevewvu (4.00 / 1)
some of us still believe that the People's House, Article I, came first for a reason. And that the People's House can pass laws. Yet another poll that about 70% of public want a public option available.

But that's our stevewvu. His favorite place to shop, since he will not support local business and his neighbors, is for a health care mandate. Read the headline and weep. I will even type letters in combination I resist just for you, stevewvu.

Wal-mart Allies with The Left

That's me and OC, baby. The Left. President McCain is not in the equation. Neither is President Lieberman. Fraud in Medicare by insurance companies and doctors should be treated like Bernie Madoff. The cost of doing nothing is higher as it continues to rise as outcomes do not improve, and wages do not keep pace.

I do believe the most intelligent and honest thing stevewvu has posted in here I've seen is blahX3. (4.00 / 1)
He obviously has the same intellectual capability as his contemporary right wing leaders. Although the last great Republican president,
Dwight Eisenhower was the principal force behind the greatest single expansion of Social Security beneficiaries in the history of the program. He led the legislative drive to add over ten million Americans to the system.

Eisenhower also said

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of
course, that believes that you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."
President Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1952

I absolutely love it when rightwingers claim that those social programs should be abolished because it reveals just how stupid and out of step with the American public they really are.
