Brilliant! (4.00 / 4)
No doubt half of the Don-A-Pollute-za's local subcontractor/ sponsors have been gate-camping for days just to get a shot at that "door prize".  And Heath Harrison's portrait of Hank Williams Jr. pretty well sums up the entire Charleston Gazette interview by staff writer Bill Lynch.

Mr. Harrison, you should send it to the Gazette while its still timely to get them to run it as a political satire.

From that interview (4.00 / 3)
I learned that  the concept of both electoral and popular votes is too much for his alcohol-soaked mind to grasp

King Coal Farce beyond the pale.... (4.00 / 1)
This is one of those moments when you find yourself scratching your head in amazement at the audacity of the coal industry and the lengths that they will go to stay in bidnez.  How can they deny GW/CC in the world today?  How can they think a big paid for rock concert will set everything back to business as normal?  Van Jones left the scene just before it gets interesting.

Op-Ed in the H-D nails it on health care (4.00 / 1)

I encourage you all to read it.

thanks for pointing that out (0.00 / 0)
It's one of the best op-eds I've read yet.

The tragedy of the health care insurance reform debate is she is presenting a factual picture of today's situation--there's no reason that information should only appear on the op-ed page instead of in every story about health care insurance reform.

Genius! (4.00 / 2)
The door prize alone is genius, but add all the other stuff and throw a Woodstock symbol with the bird (canary) dead in the middle and I'm dying here.  Really.

Apparently, they need something shiney and flashy way to detract from the UMWA's annual Labor Day rally, and one that's "free" with a way to keep a handy list of which employees/subcontractors signed up for tickets and which did not, at that.

I thought Bill Lynch's article on Hank, Jr., was pretty freaking gracious considering Sarah Palin's puppy dog goes out of his way to be sure that everybody knows all about whatever brand of stupid he's selling this week.  Such a shame to see him go from hellraiser (in that he likes to party) and Hellraiser for the Party.  It's a damned shame to see a man who wrote many a fine song for partying rebel-styled, spending his time raging for the machine.
