Remember When The Journal Talked Like A Pirate Day?

Must have been just a coinky-dink in Martinsburg.

Remember when The Journal was responsible enough to challenge completely outrageous claims by those contributing letters in late September?

One-and-a-half million came to Washington, D.C., on Sept. 12 to express more than passion. Armed with the facts and fears of losing liberties, voices from more than 45 states were echoing frustrations from health care to cap and trade.
::::::::
Editor's note: Though initially reported as exceeding 1 million, that was considered to be incorrect. Depending upon the source, crowds for the recent rally in Washington have been estimated at around 70,000 for the Sept. 12 event.

Well, I do but evidently someone who reviews the letters to the editor before they are published does not.

Now I know Del. Jonathan Miller, bless his little heart, pays for his little report to be printed on the back of the A section. But mission creep happened and his number in his little report went up by more than eleven fold to 850,000 little people there with him on the Mall on 12 September, Leave Glenn Beck Alone Day. That is free speech. Pay your money, and say what you want.

But mateys, we are here to remind them. You can have your own opinions but not your own facts. If West Virginia has an average number of the TEA Patriots and 400 went to DC and there are 170 times our population in the United States, then that is 68,000 people. Surprise, surprise.

But what was printed Sunday 10 October, but not posted on the intertubes?

Byrd and Rockefeller should listen to voters
By Ronald Caho, Gerrardstown

I have a question for U. S. Sens. Robert C. Byrd and Jay Rockefeller (both D-W. Va.): Where were you on Sept. 13 during the march on Washington, D.C. to protest Barack Obama's policy?

We, the people, have spoken. More than 1.5 million people have said "no". You better start listenting to the people.

Just say "no" to Obama care, tax increases, cap and trade, card check, and anything else Obama wants, because, we the people, do not want it. Thank you, and God Bless. I am proud T.E.A. Party supporter.

No Editor's Note, just let it hang out there, the wrong date.

Back in November Jay Rock beat Jay Wolf 64% to 36%. That's a few people who know what Jay stands for and voted overwhelmingly to re-elect him. So 400 "T.E.A. Patriots" get to usurp 192,931 other voters? Not in Thomas Jefferson's Virginia.

Those unhinged from how our republic works and the results of the last federal election for executive office have been convinced that they are the majority. That is Dick Armey's job now, not running the floor for Speaker Gingrich's House, but making sure that the 15 per-centers still think they are the 51 per-centers. That faux majority of Palinites, Dittoheads, Christianists, Glibertarians, and Paultards is out there, just like them, only silent. Somehow this illegitimate president and his agenda are being imposed on an Americans, and everybody sees this the same way. After all, what they hear on FOX is that we are still that right leaning country. A group of people, scared because they are too young to have Social Security or Medicare, and afraid of more change.

This is dangerous, this seething sense of being ignored, powerless, cornered, insecure, resentful will find an outlet, at home or in the streets, stoked by liars. And these men really do not care about the mythical little guy. Just today The Big Fat and now Richer Idiot said he was in it for the money. He doesn't like women much either.
