Latest attempt at hot button time-waster flops

Alison Knezevich of the Gazette reports on the continuing efforts by Republican bigots and their conservadem allies to put a redundant gay marriage ban on the fall ballot for distraction/get-out-the-vote purposes:

This week, Republicans launched a push to make the House vote on measures they say Democrats have allowed to die in the legislative process.  They want to do that by "discharging" bills from committees, bringing them directly to the floor for a vote.

Except for Delegate Tom Louisos, D-Fayette, the House's Democratic majority on Tuesday voted to postpone consideration of the Republican motion to discharge the marriage amendment.

Jeremy Dys and his wedge issue coalition aren't giving up, and are instead focusing on the Senate version of the bill. They're planning a so-called "Let Us Vote Rally" for noon on Thursday at the capitol.

Kudos to House (0.00 / 0)
I applaud the House members who voted to dispense with these shenanigans. Perhaps, Harry Reid could learn a thing or two about parliamentary procedure from them.

Meanwhile, did anyone else hear, Del. Patrick Lane (R- Kanawha) on Hoppy Kerchival Monday.  He actually had the audacity to complain how Democrats were "the party of No" because they weren't advancing these bills from committee.

It takes chutzpah to say that with a straight face after Republicans have stonewalled everything in Washington for so long.

In a good conversation everyone speaks.  In a great conversation some even listen.

Why does nobody condemn Brent Boggs? (0.00 / 0)
After all, what does it say that the Democratic House Majority Leader of the WV Legislature is a co-sponsor of the Marriage "Protection" Amendment???
