WV Jefferson-Jackson Dinner invite

From an email:

The 2010 Jefferson-Jackson Dinner is just over a month away! The dinner will be held Saturday, April 17, at the Charleston Civic Center. This year's keynote speaker will be former U. S. Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD).

Democratic Party Chairman Nick Casey believes that while our nation is recovering from a national and global recession, people are interested in politics and want to understand how Washington works. "Senator Daschle and our JJ Dinner will help kick-off the 2010 election year," Casey said. "Senator Daschle worked well with our state's congressional delegation throughout his tenure. He will bring his many years of Capitol Hill experience to our dinner and will offer us a frank conversation about the inner workings of politics. We are sure to have an exciting night."

Tickets for the JJ Dinner can be purchased by calling the State Democratic Party HQ at (304) 342-8121. Tickets are on a first-come, first serve basis and are $75 each or $1,000 to reserve a table of 10 seats. JFK Society members must RSVP to receive their reception tickets.

I wonder what Mr. Daschle plans to speak about.

I wouldn't go to hear Tom Daschle (0.00 / 0)
if they paid me $75 to attend.
This is the 3rd speaker in a row from a coal producing  state (Kaine, Schweitzer and now Daschle). It would probably be too obvious if Joe invited Blankenship to speak. Probably a lot of "Democrats" would still pay the big bucks to attend though.

can't help but wonder what cringe-inducing choices for awards will be handed out this time.

The only question I'd ask Senator Daschle (4.00 / 1)
Senator Daschle,

What do you suggest should be done about powerful Democrats, like WV's Rick Thompson and Brent Boggs, who feel their personal religious beliefs outweigh their commitment to the Democratic party platform?
