Apparently 1st Congressional District Democrats are so ignorant when it comes to coal, mountaintop removal and the EPA, that the WV Coal Association and Friends of Coal would like to educate us. In what is sure to be an unbiased and science-based presentation, they've chosen the communications Director of Logan Coal Vendors (wow, look at all those degrees!) to inform us about the EPA and MTR.

This week northern WV county Democratic Executive Committee Chairs received the following email.

Subject: Re: West Virginia Coal Association and Friends of Coal would like to speak to your county executive committee
Dear County Leaders,

This email is a request from the West Virginia Coal Association and the Friends of Coal to attend one of your county meetings and speak with your executive committee and members. We would like the opportunity to discuss the role of coal in the state's economy and the problems our industry is having with the US EPA.
We understand that you are opinion leaders for your respective counties and for West Virginia as a whole. It is vital that we reach your membership in order ot explain what we are doing with regard to Mountaintop Mining.
Please give me a call . . . . or return this email.
Thank your for your consideration of our request.

Sadly, some committees will prove to be fertile ground for propagating Big Coal Propaganda. I'ts not uncommon to know a "good Democrat" who still believes that Obama is a socialist or that the EPA is out to shut down coal. If you've got a committee chair that thinks this presentation is a good idea - make sure you have a knowledgeable person present to refute the propaganda and consider replacing the chair at the next election.

How long before they start going door-to-door, handing out
pamphlets and bumper stickers and peddling t-shirts and little coal dust and resin busts of poster boy Don
Blankenship?

Just wait a doggone minute (0.00 / 0)
they are going door to door, they are asking each county's Democratic Executive Committee the opportunity to address them during a normal meeting in order to educate them on the importance of coal to their county and state....hold your nose on that one, can't wait to hear when they are coming to our DEC.
