Mike Myer abandons sanity, embraces conspiracy

Mike Myer, the illustrious incredulous editor of the Wheeling newspapers, has finally gone off the deep end. Now he is openly printing conspiracy theories about Congressman Alan Mollohan.

In his desperation, Mike Myer demands that Mike Oliverio be nominated in place of Mollohan for the WV-01 congressional election. From ACORN to "cap and trade", Mike Myer shows that he is no longer a rational or competent journalist. This degradation has steadily occurred over the past ten years, and he has finally hit rock bottom. From today's editorial:

Questions persist about ethics and campaign finance issues. A Justice Department investigation of him was ended earlier this year - in January, just as President Barack Obama's administration was working to gain votes for its health care bill. Mollohan voted for it.
WV26003 :: Mike Myer abandons sanity, embraces conspiracy
This paranoid notion that somehow the US Department of Justice dropped its investigation of Congressman Mollohan in exchange for a "yes" vote on health insurance reform is beyond laughable... it's libelous.

I urge you, WVaBlue, and all others to write Myer and condescendingly express your rejection of his whackjobbery as well as your intent to stop patroning any and all businesses advertising with Ogden Newspapers, Inc.

I urge those of you with official party positions (I know you do, indeed, read this website) to speak up in defense of a Member of Congress with experience, integrity, and honor --- three qualities that Mike Myer and his right-wing extremist newspaper lack.

This BS must be denounced, and I will be working with all of my contacts to see that it is.

The Charleston Gazette (and AP) reports:

"We advocate preservation of God and constitution and family values," said Sandra Staats, director of the Parkersburg Tea Party.

Anyone that watches the O'Keefe "journalism" (0.00 / 0)
video will know that ACORN got slandered by an idiot claiming to be an investigative journalist.  Its a shame.

Breaking: Sen. Don Caruth dies (0.00 / 0)

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia Senate Minority Leader Don Caruth has died following a long battle with brain cancer.

Senate Chief of Staff Raamie Barker says the Mercer County Republican passed away Saturday morning.

The 59-year-old Caruth had been battling a recurrence of a form of brain cancer he was treated for in 2008.

Dick Morris was pushing this line on Hoppy Kercheval's show last week (0.00 / 0)
Hoppy, of course, didn't challenge him. (Again, I have to wonder why so many progressive figurers continue to legitimize Kercheval by appearing on his show)

Morris was in Wheeling as a guest of the Chamber last week. He pushed these same lies in that talk as well.

Sounds like Myer will repeat anything if it has the Chamber seal of approval.

Hoppy and the Chamber wil put any rightwing hack out there as a source of cheerleading-disguised as-analysis. The fact that Morris the prostitute-frequenter has a long, long record of outright lies, ethical lapses  and wildly inaccurate predictions doesn't matter to them.
