West Virginia Republicans want the nation to fail

In 1960, American icon John Wayne supported the unsuccessful candidacy of Vice President Richard Nixon (R) who lost to U.S. Sen. John F. Kennedy (D).

Here's what John Wayne said:

"I didn't vote for him but he's my president, and I hope he does a good job."

Like the national GOP, the West Virginia Republicans would rather the nation failed than to allow Democrats to govern successfully. They drove the nation into a ditch but they don't want anyone to get it out.
