We operate this site because we're committed to progressive causes in West Virginia. Yet even after the support of BlogPAC, there remains modest expenses associated with running the site. Instead of reaching into our own purses each and every month we're trying to make the site self-sufficient through advertising and affiliate programs. All proceeds are reinvested into the site itself. If you're a reader, checking out the ads is a helpful way to keep this site operating.

Finally, we're pretty open about what kinds of ads we'll accept--if a Republican candidate or a conservative cause thinks they have something to gain by advertising here, we'll accept their ad. Running an ad does not imply endorsement and has no impact on anything we write.
No matter how open we are, it did give me pause to see the current BlogAds (just about to end) in the queue last week... it's the kind of product I'd expect to see in my spam folder.
In the end, we decided to run the ad for a male herbal sexual enhancement as a special service to our Republican readers.
