Rahall Votes with Blue Dogs and Republicans on Debt Ceiling Bill

Link corrected...

Come on Nick... why would you commit to the Republican Agenda on the issue of raising the debt ceiling by voting NAY on House Resolution 1954?  The Bill itself was nothing more than a political ploy by House Republicans to force the hand of the administration and Democrats on issues such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid as the discussion goes forward.

You can see who the Democrats that voted NAY are by clicking here. Sadly Nick Rahall is one of those who voted to bring about the disaster that House Republicans are looking for when our country defaults on its debt.

Republicans refuse to lower defense spending, are unwilling to raise taxes on the wealthy, and to increase the upper limit on payroll taxes for Social Security and Medicare.  I for one am really disappointed.

Call Rahall now to let him know how you feel... or use his web contact page to send an email by clicking here.

Have to disagree somewhat (4.00 / 2)
GOP is "deeming" Ryan budget passed and using that as basis for appropriations. We know the Ryan budget is a dud , AND it increases the deficit with the tax cuts for the rich, what the jeebus dude preached about, NOT.

THAT is reason for increase in deficit, not as the text of the bill on the floor that Rahall vote "NO" on said the reason for the necessary increase if he Presidents Budget. I know, 114 progressives singed on to for AYE, but not all did for some reason. What did Nancy say?

What we should be doing is hammering the GOP in WV-01 and WV-02 (I know Rahall is your critter) for voting YET AGAIN for the Ryan Budget by voting for this first appropriation bill that uses the Ryan budget numbers. Free up $ by cutting back on Medicare and Medicaid to have money for tax breaks for those oppressed rich "job creators". HA!
