I want to disown Joe Manchin

Unbelievable that not only is he co-sponsoring the bill to authorize the Keystone Pipeline, he was the ONLY Democrat to do so. I am officially ashamed of him. I am reminded of the Democratic Convention in '08, when he spoke and oh so carefully avoided any mention of then candidate Obama, he was so wary of aligning himself with him. I was shamed into voting for him by my fellow Democrats, but you know what? Never again. You certainly don't have to post this publicly. I'm blowing off steam, but I mean every word I say.

Never Again! (4.00 / 2)
I agree, I don't think I can bear to cast a vote for Joe Manchin again. He has been one embarrassment after another since he arrived in the Senate. I wish someone would run against him in the primary.

Campaign (0.00 / 0)
This move is all about taking pieces off of John Raese's chess board in prep for the campaign. By the time November comes around there wont be a hair's difference between their right-wing bona fides.

Manchin has a primary opponent (0.00 / 0)
Fletcher may not bet much better than him, but for those of us who never could or no longer can stomach casting a vote for Manchin, there is at least an option.

"Keystone Joe" (0.00 / 0)
It is apalling, of course.  But once again we will face the choice between "Keystone Joe" and 1000 laser systems in the sky . . . blech.

Joe Manchin is a Republican (4.00 / 1)
He lied to us during the campaign, he charmed us with his "down home" attitude, and he now he's totally on the Republican side of the aisle.   At least with Raese, we KNEW what we were getting.

I will NEVER cast another vote in my life for Joe Manchin.

We knew what we (4.00 / 2)
Were getting.

The person who's running against Manchin (0.00 / 0)
There is a person running against him. SHEIRL FLETCHER is their name. I don't know much about them but they are listed as a candidate. If you don't want to vote for that person then vote for someone else. The Constitution Party is running someone and I think the Mountain Party is also running someone. Just a thought to those of you who seem to not like Joe.

The Constitution Party? You're joking, right? (4.00 / 1)
You'd actually encourage someone to vote for the neo-fascist party?

It was a suggestion. Not that people have to choose but there are other groups or people who could run or are running. Personally I would like to see a write in candidate. If there were one to come into the race. My point is there are other candidates running or people could start a draft movement to elect someone who isn't running. We don't have to be tied down to party lines to get someone who's going to work for West Virginia in office.

I'm voting for KEN! (4.00 / 3)
I'd write in for a 95 year old before I voted for SHeirl Fletcher, another wolf in sheep's clothing. Pro-coal and Pro-life. Sorry.

Actually, that's a GREAT idea (4.00 / 1)
Writing in Ken Hechler. What a fitting honor for one of West Virginia's distinguished statesmen.

He has until March 26 to file as write-in (0.00 / 0)
At least for the primary election.

ยง3-6-4a. Filing requirements for write-in candidates.
