Great. Our wonderful Senator Manchin is about to go on national TV (MSNBC) to totally illustrate, in living color, his Neanderthal roots. Asking President Obama to repeal the provision to guarantee contraceptives coverage for all women. Somebody give him a club. Remind me again, who is this guy.

Again. (0.00 / 0)
He is the guy whose political machine (aka Party Hierarchy) runs the state. He is the guy the voters keep electing, yet he is the guy no Democrat can stand, yet he is the "popular governor/senator" etc. because all the talking heads say so. He is the guy who calls all the shots and you had better heed his wishes or you won't get your turn, and risk being labeled as unelectable by the Party Hierarchy. He is the guy who is a disgrace to the Democratic Party and the memory of Robert C. Byrd.

Yes, the dollar sign is deliberate.

I've been content to read the commentary here without joining the site until now. Former Governor Manchin does NOT represent Democrats in West Virginia. I'd have more respect for him if he switched parties.

I was shamed into voting for him (4.00 / 1)
Never ever again. I remember distinctly driving down 522 with one of our county's big Dems practically screaming thru my phone that I "had" to vote for him. If this is the best we can do, I'd rather not vote at all. I remember clicking the button next to his name, thinking "I am going to regret this." And here we are. If Obama is the best, this guy is definitely THE WORST. And if I ever see his picture on West Virginia Blue's masthead next to our beloved Byrd's, I will be out of here! He is a disgrace!

I was also shamed into voting for him. (4.00 / 1)
And I will NOT do it again.

Joe said Obama was "unamerican" (4.00 / 1)
http://www.npr.org/templates/s...

"This is not only unacceptable, it is un-American," says Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., a Catholic who faces re-election in November in a state where Wednesday nights are reserved for church services.

Now I have even more reason to be glad I voted Mountain Party. : )

Nothing has changed about Joe Manchin. I worked for a Senator in the late Seventies. Joe was a DINO back then. I'm so disappointed that we don't have anyone to run against him.
