Palin's flip flop on coal

by: Carnacki

Fri Sep 05, 2008 at 00:25:51 AM EDT

We're not fans of the Orwellian named clean coal technology here at WV Blue, but many Democrats and Republicans do support it.

Here was a line in Sarah Palin's speech Wednesday:

Starting in January, in a McCain-Palin administration, we're going to lay more pipelines ... build more new-clear plants ... create jobs with clean coal ... and move forward on solar, wind, geothermal and other alternative sources.

Here's Palin as governor:

- The environment. As governor, Palin vetoed wind power and clean coal projects, including a 50-megawatt wind farm on Fire Island and a clean coal facility in Healy...

Now granted she told so many lies on Wednesday it was probably easy for people to miss that she was against clean coal technology before she was read the speech where she's for it.

McCain too (4.00 / 2)
McCain's statements about clean/alternative energy are just empty rhetoric too.  He has repeatedly voted against (or abstained from voting on) tax incentives for wind, solar, and other sources of alternative energy.  He often says that he supports clean energy and that we should increase our production of it (I think he said it in his speech last night, but I can't bear to read through a transcript of it right now to find out), but he has absolutely ZERO policies to actually try to encourage it, while fully supporting tax breaks for big oil.

I was just thinking of you. I still have to mail something out. I came across an unstamped envelope and said, what's this? It was the item I hadn't sent for want of a stamp that got put aside.

I haven't forgotten. Should be out today.
