That'll certainly be some "Labor Day Wango Tango1" if God decides to send a three and a half story high wave of sludge roaring down the hollow just as Don Blankenship introduces the most upper of upper crust Lord Christopher Monckton, Third Viscount of Brenchley to one of the poorest areas in the United States.2. But it wouldn't be the first time God drowned a bunch of folks in Southern WV coal sludge.
Although Blankncheck hasn't warned anyone pre-registering to attend his "I HEART COAL" fest3, folks planning to go really should be made aware that there are more coal sludge impoundment dams per square mile around this doodah than anywhere else in the US.
Just one of the many nearby toxic sites holds an incredible 4.74 billion gallons of deadly slime soup behind a 345 ft. high dirt wall. By comparison, that's quadruple the amount of muck released in Tennessee's giant TVA spill not so long ago. The amount of toxic sludge spilld across Tennessee was reportedly 100 times larger than the famous Exxon Valdez disaster! According to the Coal Impoundment Location and Information System website4 there are absolutely NO evacuation plans filed with the state of WV, or with either of the counties of Mingo or Logan for an event the size of the one planned by Blankenship and his pals. NONE. Nor are there any instructions to the public on Blankenstein's spiffy "Friends of America" website warning folks of the imminent dangers. So good luck to all those Ted "Crusty Pants" Nugent fans when he starts machine gunning the crowd to clear them out of HIS way even as they trample each other to keep from drowning in liquified mercury, lead, arsenic, and selenium.
One more thing. While friendsofamericarally.com website advises everyone pre-registering to bring a lawn chair, do NOT plan to sit directly or go barefoot on any reclaimed site. The chemicals sprayed across reclaimed quarry topsoil in an attempt to force it to be "green" can be both caustic AND toxic.
Open mouth insert foot. And that is exactly what Sean Hannity the loud mouth liar from FOX news did about a week ago.
Sean a major propagandist for the war , bush and all other things immoral . Is fond of claiming we have to torture people to keep the nation safe. .................. Guess it never occurred to Hannity that people will lie and tell you anything to make torture stop . Anyhoo . The other night on his show Hannity was as is typical on one of his rants trying to defend torture and water boarding. Charles Grodin a actor was on the program and he disagreed with hannity and asked Hannity had he ever been water boarded ? Hannity said no . Groden suggested that perhaps if hannity was to be water boarded he would stop advocating that it's all right to do.
And the race is on from there. Keith Olberman offered to pay $1000 per every second Sean Hannity lasts during the water boarding. The money goes to charities that help troops families.
Petitions and pledges to give money to the cause are popping up all over the country. ............................. Oops I think Sean Hannity opened his mouth and stuck his foot in it this time.
So okay here is my prediction on this.
A- hannity will back out ................. producing some statement from his doctor saying water boarding would be a health hazard for him. .......................... showing what a loud mouthed sissy he is.
Or
B- Public support will be so great for this that Fox will end up telling hannity he has to do it if he wants to keep that lucrative TV contract he has.
So my prediction is there is a good chance along about June of this year Hannity will be water boarded.
In the meantime much to do will be made of this. Many people will pledge money per the seconds hannity lasts. The pledges will be up in the millions of dollars . ........................ So hannity the loud mouth will be forced to try to endure at least 2 minutes of water boarding for charity.
I predict hannity lasts about 40 seconds before crying like a little girl and giving up.
I also predict after that nothing will have changed with Hannity. He will still continue with his immoral constant lies.
While I am sure Hannity's lies about others will continue . WE can bet after this that hannity will be a bit more careful about what he volunteers himself for.

When news broke that Brittny Spears' 16-yr-old little sister was pregnant out-of-wedlock, rightwing pundits O'Reilley, Limbaugh, and Hannity blamed the teen's parents. O'Reilley called them pinheads, but now defends Sarah Palin, explaining that her unwed teen daughter was supervised when she got knocked up.
Normally, none of this should make a lot of difference in politics. But lord knows we've already seen far too much hypocrisy in our last Vice Prez. From being against same sex marriage to his daughter's "miracle baby", it is the lack of character reflected by Cheney's total hypocrisy that sets him apart from normal folks. And Palin's no better, having cut aid to unwed, homeless mothers and vehemently opposed sex education.
So the deep flaws you see in Cheney are already revealed in Gov Palin. He knew that Iraq was of little or no threat and would be a quagmire, yet he beat the war drums harder than anyone. Palin said that going there was God's work.
The rightwing's years of elimination rhetoric led to one of their listeners following through at a Knoxville, Tenn., church.
Police found right-wing political books, brass knuckles, empty shotgun shell boxes and a handgun in the Powell home of a man who said he attacked a church in order to kill liberals "who are ruining the country," court records show.
Knoxville police Sunday evening searched the Levy Drive home of Jim David Adkisson after he allegedly entered the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church and killed two people and wounded six others during the presentation of a children's musical.
A children's musical. We're lucky no children were killed.
The church's Web site states that it has worked for "desegregation, racial harmony, fair wages, women's rights and gay rights" since the 1950s. Current ministries involve emergency aid for the needy, school tutoring and support for the homeless, as well as a cafe that provides a gathering place for gay and lesbian high-schoolers.
Adkisson does not appear to be a member of any church himself, Owen said.
In other words, it was a church that practiced Christ's message of love instead of being an outpost of the right.
Where did he get the idea to do that?

As a pastor in the United Church of Christ - a sister denomination of the Unitarian Universalist Association - I know very well how vulnerable congregations are to those who mean to do them harm.
I also know very well the kind of selflessness practiced by salt of the earth members like Greg McKendry, who absorbed the full brunt of a shotgun blast to protect the other members of Tennessee Valley UUC. "No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends," Jesus tells us. There are millions of people across the nation who would be willing to take that saying seriously if called upon. In that they not heroic, but faithful.
Other blogs have documented how the rightwingers are ignoring any role their rightwing rhetoric has played and instead turning it into an "anti-Christian" attack instead of addressing it honestly.
Authors Jeffrey Feldman and David Neiwert have long documented the right's use of eliminationist rhetoric, from Ann Coulter's "joke" that Tim McVeigh's error was he didn't blow up The New York Times building to a recent Fox News commentator's "quip" that Barack Obama should be "taken out."
Right-wingers love to "joke" about mowing down, rounding up, and otherwise "wiping out" all things liberal. It's become a standard feature of conservative-movement rhetoric. And whenever anyone calls them on it, they have a standard response: "Aw, c'mon -- it's just a joke!"
In reality, of course, rhetoric like this has historically played a critical role in some of the ugliest episodes in American history, as well as thousands of little acts of xenophobic brutality: functionally speaking, it gives violent -- and frequently unstable -- actors permission to act on these impulses. People like this always believe they're standing up for what "real Americans" think -- and the jokes tell them that this is so.
This was a violent attack on liberals. It was inspired by years of wingnuts talking about how much they hate liberals and wish they could do something about them. This man did. But watch the people who have been telling these "jokes" run away from any culpability for it.
Their "jokes" were never funny except to sick minds.
