Connecting dots in US Attorney Scandal

by: Clem Guttata

Tue Apr 03, 2007 at 08:00:27 AM EDT

West Virginia's most famous blogger, Christy Hardin Smith at Firedoglake, further connects the dots in the story of former West Virginia US Attorney Kasey Warner. It's great to see this get some national attention. Click through--it's an informative post with lots of interesting links detailing W.Va. political history.

We've had two great member-writted diaries on the subject here: murrayewv introduced Kasey Warner on this site a couple weeks ago in Who are the WV US Attorneys?; nemesis provides even more details on Kasey Warner in US Attorney for WV Southern District.

I've been watching with fascination as the horror of the US attorneys resignations unfolds.  Then, last night, it occurred to me, I have no idea who the US Attorneys are in WV and what they have been up to.  Paul Krugman, my hero, commented that the problem with Bush administration was not just the people asked to resign, but the people kept in the office, to selectively prosecute the Democrats for various corruption charges while looking past the deeds of the Republicans in their domain.  I am using the interweb to investigate who these folks are.
