Indecision 2008 - West Virginia

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart brought their unique brand of political satire to the Mountain State for Wednesday night's show.

Unfortunately, West Virginians didn't come across very well, but I don't think we have anyone to blame but ourselves.  The worst comments came from our own citizens saying ignorant things and displaying their prejudice in a very disappointing manner.

It's a sad state of affairs that such feelings are apparently still commonplace in our state.  We must do better.  Hopefully, shedding some light on these beliefs will lead to the progress we need.

A diary last week about Obama's ability to excite swing voters in other parts of the country (NY Times Thursday: Obliterating Hillary's Electability Meme) including a fascinating graphic from the New York Times:

Below the break, I apply this decision tree to 2000/2005 census data and 2004 voting data to project Clinton's margin of victory in the state.
